Marrying in college

Posted in Uncategorized at 8:20 pm by throughspaceandtime

All right, so anyone who knows me well knows that I want to get married someday…

Now in my way of thinking, to get married you pretty much need to be out of school, have a decent career going, have the student loans paid off, have a down payment made on a house, the whole 9 yards.

And if you know me well, you know that I’m not there. I’m still in school, and I basically subsist by working like crazy over the summer, and a minuscule amount of part-time work over the rest of the school year.

A few weeks ago I was visiting my parent’s church and chatting with RS the visiting preacher, and he asked me if I thought it was possible to get married in college, both work part-time and live really cheap, and so on. Which, frankly, had never really crossed my mind. So now I’m curious.

Did any of you readers go this route and get married while you and your SO were still in college? Or do you know anyone else who did? How did it work out? Pros? Cons? If you did, what year of college were you in? Senior? Sophomore? I’m really curious as to whether this actually a viable option.

And in case anyone is wondering, no, I don’t have a specific girl in mind. This is just an open-ended question to see if my way of thinking here is right or not.

All right, first post.  Just one quick rule before I really get going…

I don’t mind anonymous comments, just as long as you’re not being a jerk.

The anonomity of the Internet has a way of bringing out the worst in people, but this isn’t the place for that.  Commenters that are being a jerk are fair game for deletion.  That being said, commenters who identify themselves can get away with saying a lot more than people who stay anonymous.  Capiche?
